Magtech Bullets??

i was recently gifted some of these bullets (40 cal 180 grain JHP) and was curious if any one had any experience with said manufacturer. the rounds i shot didnt expand what so ever. they rather collapsed in on its self. any one else have a similar experince?

What did you shoot them into? HP's need something that's mostly liquid like flesh, ballistic gelatin, water, wet phone books, wet or pliable clay to flow into the hollow to get them to expand. They're essentially a lead parachute with the jacket controlling the expansion. If you fire HP's through anything very solid like sand, dry phone books, gyp board, wood, etc. they'll either mash flat or fill up with the material and not expand.

i used wet phone books that had been soaking for a couple hours....

I've loaded MagTech brass for .380acp, it's good and slugs for a 9mm - FMJ's they seemed good. don't know about their HP's.

I've used their .38 caliber 158 grain JHP bullets with good results. They're very similar to a Winchester JHP of the same weight.
