What is the difference between a Remington 870 model 25077 and a model 5077? I've tried the Remington website, wikipedia, and the search function here and came up with nothing. All I can see in pictures is a different fore end.

Is a 25077 an older model? Is one more desirable than the other?

The 25077 has the new stock set that Remington is now putting on the Express. It has the longer forend. Same shotgun just different stock set. The picture below has a custom 7+1 mag tube to fit the 18.5" barrels that Remington is putting on their 870 shotguns. The barrels have a heavier profile.

I've found that if you work the forearm agressively it loosens up and you have to tighten down the retaining nut. But after some time the action bars begin to dig into the plastic which gives in to more freeplay in the forearm. anyone know if the older version synthetics do this too?
