I have 12 Wal Mart 12gauge 100 shell value pack empty boxes going into the trash tomrrow. This weekend I managed to throw about 1400 shells through my Winchester Defender.
I was cleaning it when I thought I would grab the digital camera (it is a old one that still takes floppies so don't blame me for the pictures).

Here they are the two of the most reliable guns I own.

Winchester Defender 1300 12gauge.
Heckler & Koch USP Compact .40 S&W

As of today both have more than 20,000 rounds through them without a single breakage or firearm malfunction. Neither have had anything more than a basic cleaning (although I think I need to replace the USP's polymer bushing). Nothing needs replacing on the Winchester.

Well the photos are nothing really to celebrate, but the 20,000 controlled explosions each, is probably something worthy of a mention.
Both have their favourite ammunition beside then. The Winchester likes Federal Premium 9 pellet 00 buck (copper plated shot in a cup).
The H&K USP likes Remington's Golden Sabers 165grain weight.

I make the effort to shoot the H&K twice a week, or more.
I shoot the Winchester at least once a week, on average.

Both show wear (character) and a couple of cosmetic blemishes but they both run absolutely perfectly. They both hit what I point them at...

Regards,
Cameron

Kudoes,Congrats and Mazeltov,Cameron.

I would have loved to record your scores and times on fast COFs at the start of this marathon and every 5K rounds thereafter. What a way to graph the learning curve!

And thanks for posting this. Maybe it'll inspire others into emulation and expertise.

Good show.
Nice to see someone has guns that run like they are supposed to.
We mostly hear bout the ones that break.

Cameron, what type of targets does your range have? Lotsa taping with shotgun on paper targets :) Unfortunately I can only run my shotgun at matches as the indoor range only lets you shoot it if you buy their ammo and that gets expensive REAL fast :(
