Well not yet literally.... But I ordered it and my dealer will have it tues. He got it for me for $700 which from what I can tell is a pretty good deal. List is $988 and most retail outlets and gun stores run them about $850.

I vetted out a lot of snubbies and came up with the 360PD. Carry a lot and shoot a little was my motto throughout the search and .357 capability is a bonus. Although depending on recoil and how it handles I may run .38+p. I usually carry a 10mm 1911 cmdr, but that gun is heavy and sometimes I want to run light.

Yes I've read all the recoil horror stories. No need to lecture. :o

I would've bought a 337pd if I could have found one.

Good for you:D those are good looking guns. dont mind the story tellers around the gun forums I just sold my 329PD a month or so ago and it wasnt as bad as everyone said and I was very fond of shooting it.

Fired the beast friday. Wow. Not as bad as people made it out to be and I can't figure out the whole "fired one cyl. and sold it" stories. IMO, it's a nice shooter. Yeah it's got snappy recoil but it's FAR from intolerable.

The complete ease of carry and light weight outweigh the harsh recoil. Carries very well in the Desantis OWB #020.

I fired:

20rnds of .38spl WWB
15rnds of .38+p Buffalo bore 125gr GD
20rnds of .357 Speer 135gr GD "short barrel"
5rnds of .357 125gr Corbon DPX
25rnds of .357 158gr WWB (snappy)

I still want to try some full house 158gr buffalo bore (.357 Heavy) or Double Tap 158gr .357 in search of this "intolerable recoil". I suppose I am a glutton for punishment? I am going to do a more extended range session later today and get a better feel for what's more accurate. I so wish I had a chronograph.

Anyway, BEAUTIFUL gun and I am completely satisfied with it so far.

My question is, with the recoil from full power .357 Magnum rounds do you think you will be able to get off a quick, accurate second shot if necessary? When I bought my J frame I went with a 15oz Airweight .38 Special because I felt .38 Special +P ammo was more controllable in a SD situation. I figured if I was going to carry .38 Special ammo anyway I might as well save half the price of the Airlite and buy an Airweight.

I fired off a few pretty quick. The recoil is very stout but it's completely different. There is no momentum to the recoil, as in the gun doesn't jump off point as easily as a heavier magnum. What it does do is smack your hand pretty good. Like others have noted, think of slapping your hand on a hardwood table.

For me it's more like laying your hand on a hardwood table and then smashing it with a hammer That about covers recoil using my 337PD 10oz. Big difference from a M60 at 16oz. I can shoot double action faster with my M29 as far are recovery time goes.

None of the rounds you tested would be considered "full house". Try some 125gr Federal HP for a real pain tolerance test or my favorite in my Ruger SP101 - 145gr Winchester Silver Tips. If you are OK with these then you have nothing to fear.

EXCEPT: The Buffalo Bore ammo might give you pause!

Try some Federal HydraShok 125gr .357 and tell us how it feels. I use this as my carry load in my MP340 and it is definitely a hand full!!

This little cannon is a handful one handed.... Fired off some hotter 125gr rounds today.

Did a five rnd semi- fast fire test at the end of the session and got them all within 6" of where I was aiming at 21ft using .357. I'm happy, my hand? not so much.

Went back to the range today and fired off quite a few more .357s, some one handed. :what: I am really liking this gun. I haven't been this excited about a new gun I've acquired in a long time.

A lot of people seem to say you can't get a good followup with a .357 snubbie due to the recoil. I have a feeling those people have never fired a ultralite .357 The recoil is completely different in that there isn't momentum to it. It's a smack and not a big push due to the ultra light weight. Followups are easy and controllable if not painful.

Here is 5 shots as fast as I could line up and pull the trigger (around 3 seconds) in double action at 21ft. The targets are 5.5x7.5".

At first I was like wow you paid alot, but I guess that is the price now. I have a 340PD that I paid $520. Your are right it doesn't seam to snap up, but more slam back into my hand. I can shoot about 20 full powered loads and then my wrist is done for the day, but that being said I am recovering from hospital time so I can only shoot about 50 rds of 40 before my hand gets too shakey. I am at least able to hit what I am aiming at. I do love the pistol as I carry it all the time including when I go in the woods and it is nice becasue it is very weather resistant. Take a look at the hip grips. I put them on mine and it is nice because no holster and it gives a wider grip. They don't feel as nice as the Hogue grips though. Have fun.

Bought mine for $500.00. It had ONE round through it, you could still see the cylinder ring. It is my carry EVERYWHERE piece.
