Convinced a "Bowling for Columbine" fan the critical need for the 2nd Amendment in less than 5 minutes.

He wasn't a hard liner, he just didn't understand the need of assualt type weapons in the modern age.

He put forth why he thought the the 2nd amendment was added to the constitution. I can't remember his exact thinking or wording but simply told him "No, they put it there so that we wouldn't need to revolt like we had to against the British. It's there so that the government will always have a health fear of the people. Because people in power will alway try to sc--w you over."

THAT he could agree with (we both work at Sprint ;) ). He may not be a gun nut now, but the seed for voting in our favor is planted!

Sounds like you need to take this guy shooting! When I take someone new shooting, I like to use reactive targets, so they can see their accomplishments immediately. Alot more exciting than shooting paper. I usually start them with my 22 Mag, shooting at stuff like lemons or limes. They explode pretty nice when you hit them, and they leave such a fresh, clean smell!

That's a good idea. Interestingly he understands the need for handguns and self defense he just didn't see what the big deal about the AWB and the like. Now I think he's on the right track.

Good work Black Snowman.
Keep him gently fed with straight scoop and he'll be here one of these days.
