i know this is off topic..
My wife is pretty upset with the election, and is now talking about moving to the DFW area (probably one of the surrounding counties) from florida.
I was wondering how you guys like TX, if you have lived elsewhere, and what your likes and dislikes are.
We like that land is pretty cheap there (from what we see, we can afford a 40 to 80 acre ranch), economy is pretty good (favorable corporate tax's and right to work state, so big offshore businesses are setting up shop in TX), gun laws are pretty good, it will probably always be a red state, etc...

Her sister lives in grapevine, so she knows the weather and such.

She is a software engineer and is hoping there are jobs in DFW. I'm an RN.
We are looking at jobs as we speak.

any info would be appreciated.

Well I moved here from Kalifornia about 4 years ago and love it. If you looking at 40-80 acres though plan a commute if you are going to work in Dalls. Theres stuff out there that is still affordable but its a little out of the metroplex for the most part. I really enjoy the gun laws compared to what I was used to. I also enjoy the quality of life and the people aren't to bad either. Both good careers for this area also there seem to be ads looking for RNs in the paper by the dozens, and software is big buisness in the DFW area. Make the plunge I say.
