This is the Nork I carry these days. I got the gun a long while back, and it was butt ugly, but ran great, so I took the time to make it real purty.
High gloss blue (1200 grit on the flats, 320 on the rest) with trijicon front sight, Yost Retro rear, EGW extractor, firing pin stop, high magazine catch, and slide stop, and Colt thumb safety. Grips are white paper micarta, but I also have elephant ivory it wears from time to time (with medallions, which is a little sacreligious on a Chinese gun). I carry in an EP Saddlery IWB rig, and use GI 7-round mags that my old ship tossed in the dumpster. She shoots great, and now she looks great, too! (that's not a scratch, just a little excess oil.)

Looks excellent. I wish NORINCO still imported them. I might have gotten one just to have a 1911.

I was going to get one until I heard they stopped importing.

They are for sale in Canada for very inexpensive prices - but there is no way to get one into the states that I know of.
And I don't think the new administration is going to rescind Clinton's EO that banned the importation.

The steel in this one was a problem for my gunsmith, actually. He went through three dovetail cutters to get the front sight in, the stuff is very hard.

I'm surprised that he agreed to do the cutting at all--he must not have heard what they're made of.

You have an excellent pistol there. I polished and blued my Norinco at home using a home-made hot blue. I have mildly modified mine with a cheap Sarco slide w/Novak style sights, a Roto brand barrel, a Wilson drop-in beavertail, and Chip McCormick mag. Mine is incredibly accurate, bet your life reliable, and a joy to handle and shoot.
