Does any one know anything about the new vtr from remington. Like why is the barrel a triangle and what advantages does it have.

mostly hype, but it does offer some good stuff. The barrel just makes more surface area to dissipate heat as well as make it harder to warp with heat. Other than that it is a normal gun that is way over priced because it looks different and it has a built in muzzle brake. It will shoot well though.

believe it or not there is acually less muzzle jump with the VTR than a standard heavy barrel in caliber 223. The VTR weighs less too.

There is near zero muzzle jump in my VTR in 22-250, plus you are supposed to have the rigidity a full bull barrel with a fraction of the weight. I like mine a lot, it shoots great and it may have been a little pricey but hey, its something new and different!
