I just ordered three CS Laredos from the distributor. One for myself and two for Mike Sastre [ River City sheaths ] who will be my partner for the ride out to the event in a few weeks.
He'll have them available there. If you are interested in one of these and his southern comfort sheath let me or Mike know and he can have one ready to go for you.
Not sure what he will be charging for the package deal with sheath. Shoot him a line if you are interested.

Are you going to review it Brownie? What would really rock is a comparison between the Laredo, the Ontairo Bagwell styles, and maybe even the Fisk. The Ontarios have distal taper right? Does the Laredo have the distal taper as well?

I'm not familiar with the Laredo at this time. I should be receiving it this weekend in the mail [ along with Mikes 2 ].
I ceratinly could do a review, and in fact, thats a great idea Dan. Expect a review sometime after I return from the event. I'll be carrrying it in a custom River City sheaths southern comfort sheath he's making for me at this time.
I'll do a review on the sheath and knife together for everyone here after I get back. I also plan on passing the MT OMS thats going to be reviewed soon at www.folders-r-us.org around to let the crew give me some feedback as well.
I understand from my sources familiar with the Laredo that it is heavier and not as fast as the Ontario Belle. It was stated that the Laredo is a good compromise between speed and weight. Light enough to be fast in a dogfight, and heavy enough to effect some chopping chores around the camp when necessary. The Belle is not a good camp/all around long blade, nor is it meant to be, it's a pure fighter.

I received the Laredo yesterday. It 's quite a bit bigger than the Belle in all dimensions.
In a few initial drills quickly, it flows well in backcuts, 1 and 3 lines, and to my surprise came sharpened for backcutting.
It is slower than the Belle due to the increased size and subsequent weight.
I'm not sure what the wooden grip is made of but it is beautiful, looks like rosewood perhaps. The handle is smooth and may be a problem when wet hands are holding it. I'll report back after the Riddle on this and other issues that arise from using and carrying it.
I have a River City Sheaths southern comfort being made for it which it will be carried in. The factory leather sheath seems stout with the "belt button" as on the Ontario Belles.

Thanks for the update Brownie! The Laredo looks like a great piece for the money. I figured it would be heavier and slightly slower than the Belle.
