Only thing I know is finding the proper size .227" - .228" jacketed bullets for them is hit & miss at best.

Hornady still makes a 70 grain Spire-Point .227" bullet, but that's the only one I know of.

They have a little load data in the #6 manual.

Cool i have data but not all that much on it now i have alot more . i do get the .228 bullets but a gun smith told me i can run .223 bullets thru it an thats what i have been doin 65 gr v max to be exact figured i would loose accuracy but actually it has improved with the .223 use h380 at 29 gr with 30/30 brass necked down.100 yrds i have 1 in group guess i cant complain.

Heck! It might shoot 1/4" groups with the right size bullets then! :D

I have one, plus Lyman mold & sizer, plus RCBS dies to convert .30-30 cases.

You might want to look up a Handloader article on the caliber from some years ago. Lots of good info. PM me an address, and when I have time I will hunt it down.

S&B still loads it, and they claim ballistics US data never achieved.

Mine is not very accurate because of a loose barrel/receiver joint. It shoots ok with just the barrel mounted sights.

From what i have read the big fall down about the gun was its accuracy.especially the take down model like i have model 99 its lethal on yotes prairie pups an believe it or not bull elk.tracked him for about a half mile.he is nice an cool in the fridge.
