Tomorrow I'm going out to order my promotion/30th B-day present to myself. I'm planning on ordering a Sako 75 Hunter but I'm having some difficulty deciding on a chambering. It's basically going to be a designated deer gun with the occasional fun trip to the range. I want something with moderate recoil. Right now, I'm stuck between these rounds: .25-06, .270, 6.5x55, and possibly .30-06. Any and all comments, advice, and recommendations are welcome. Thanks

I like .270. Enough punch for deer, but won't kill your shoulder when you decide to go kill paper for a day.

My Dad is very fond of the 270 and has several. It's his favorite deer cartridge.
