Hi, All:
I have a Win. 94AE in .45LC. It is an older gun, but as new. It has been fired only about ten times. When I fired it the other day, with R&P new brass reloads, the extractor would not pick up and extract the fired cartridges. I tried several other brands of brass when I got home from the range, and the rifle extracted the cases OK. The extractor does not seem to go over the R&P case rims and therefor will not extract them. What would be a good solution to this problem? Should I try to grind the extractor a little larger? I have quite a few new R&P unfired brass cartridges allready primed, and hate to not be able to use them. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Personally, I would just avoid using Remington brass in it. Some makes of .45 Colt brass have slightly different rim dimensions, and this is one reason that Winchester didn't chamber a rifle in .45 Colt for so many years. They felt that they simply couldn't make it reliable enough with all makes of brass and ammo.

Remington brass is a problem in numerous firearms. Try another brand and see if extraction becomes positive before doing any work on the rifle. I have two 94 AE rifles in .44 and .357 and have never had a problem unless I use Remington brass. I no longer use it for any weapon. I think there are too many differences in cartridge case dimensions for the firearm manufacturers to cover them all. I have had perfect chambering and extraction using WW and Federal.
