With the opening of a new indoor range 15 min from me a month ago, I am able to shoot more and play with different loads.

I love Trail Boss in my revolvers for light target loads, but it felt wrong to shoot such a light load in my Warrior. Fun, but wrong. I used 3.5 gr under a 200 LSWC. The slide cycled a round reliably every time just did not lock the slide back when the mag was empty. Very accurate at 7yds. Great for someone learning to shoot. I am going to keep a few hundred on hand for my wife and kids.

I am limited to 25 yds indoors and my normal load of 5.3 gr of 231 works just fine. I was just surprised that it felt so light and still cycled.

I like Trail Boss, too. I called IMR tech service and asked the for a load for a 200gr lswc and a 230gr lrn for my .45 ACP Kimber. Here's what they told me.

200gr LSWC
5.5 gr Trail Boss Max Load
C.O.L. 1.225 inches
815 FPS

230gr LRN
4.5 gr Trail Boss Max Load

My Kimber likes a 200gr lswc and 5.0 gr of Trail Boss. IMR's phone # is
