Have you used it for .223? I notice it does not full length size and only neck sizes. Opinions on jamms in an AR 15.

It does full length resize. It does not just size the neck.
I use it. No jams.

Just bought one and stared using it a few weeks ago. It is a full length sizer and my first batch went through my Bushmaster with no problems. The down side is that RCBS recommends that all cartridegs sized in the X die be trimmed back .02" from max length i.e. back to 1.740". Since I do not have a power trimmer, this proved to be a bit arduous when trimming 300 empties but the promise is that once you do this if you continue to use the X die you will not have to trim them again...ever. The die is an interesting design which keeps the neck from stretching beyond spec when the cartridge is resized. That was the selling point for me. Personally, I feel like this is a superior sizing die and I am very pleased with my initial run of three hundred.

Sorry for the misinformation about the x die. I read that on the Cabella's web site I think. I really wanted one that would full length resize since I reload for a semi auto AR 15. Thanks for the info.

I loaded 7K of 223 last year. I have 7 AR's and shoot the heck out of them. I use the small base X Die.

There was a big discussion about X-dies on here 8 or 6 months back. I suggest you look it up, as a lot of the negatives associated with them were brought out. They ain't all they're made out to be. Nuff said here.

Other than the initial trim, I'd like to know what the "negatives" are.
I use a set of x-dies for reloading .223 and .30/06 (M1 Garand) and I have had zero problems or issues using them.

I have been using X-Dies for years and I can no negatives I have encountered unless you call not having to trim your brass and having last longer a negative.
