How do I know if my revolver will accept moon clips. I have a Colt Mk 3 Trooper which I dont think will take them but it does have a recess in the cylinder on the side the cartridges load. I got to thinking what makes a revolver accept moon clips or not.

EARL:
THE CYL. HAS TO BE CUT DOWN THE THICKNESS OF THE MOON CLIPS .
IF IT HAS BEEN CUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HIT THE PRIMERS DUE TO CARTRIDGES BEEING TOO FAR FROM THE FIRING PIN ( TOO BIG A HEADSPACE)

wanted to add that some of the traditional rimless revolvers most of the time will chamber & shoot the round it`s designated to, at least my 625 will
