I found a pin on SKS double muzzle brake, and wonder if it will fit the sight holes on my Romanian SAR-1. See SAR-1 pictures thread. The double has top holes in back, (closest to sights) and Slots closer to the end. (The little hole in the end where the bullet comes out) Before I pay out and pin on, I'd like to know if it will fit and stay stabile. I also found a slanted AK muzzle brake, but don't like the looks of it as well as the double.

IME most of the accessories like that tend to be pretty model-specific. The design, dimensions and method of attachment of the sights on various SKS carbines are very similar.

IIRC, the SAR-1 is an AK variant. Critical dimensions such as bbl diameter, sight retaining pin location, etc. will likely be very different.

You might be able to cobble it on with some filing and ingenuity. Personally, I wouldn't chance it when there are so many other options in a muzzle brake/flash suppressor made specifically for AK-type carbines. It wouldn't take much in the way of misalignment to ruin your rifle with a single shot.

IIWY, I'd do some browsing in the catalogs/web sites and take a look at just how many options other than the "slant" MB you have. I think you'll be able to find what you're looking for.

Where are you in Indiana. I'm NW. Went to Valpo gun show this weekend but Politically Incorrect was not there. Hope to see him in two weeks in South Bend. He has all kinds for both SKS and AK variants. I can be petient.

We're a little north and west of Indy, in the central region. I almost never get up into the Valpo area so I'm not familiar with show venues up that way. No family connections or business interests there, so hasn't seemed worth the drive just to check out a show. After spraining my leg kicking myself in the a** for driving two hours and paying five or six bucks to look at thirty tables full of mostly knives and Fleamarket crap a few times, I'm sort of reluctant to go on "Mystery Tours". If I'm missing out on any good ones, I'd appreciate some tips on which ones to look for.
