Count 'em up, please.

Numerator/first number is your number of traditional frontstuffers (sidelock percussion or flintlock or matchlock, with wood stock and traditional looks - but adjustable sights are ok).

Denominator/second number is non-traditional, including inlines and rifles that would otherwise be traditional but for a plastic stock.

Now I'm 2 / 3. (5 total)

Six months ago I was 0 / 1, so I'm on a roll, muzzleloader wise right now.

2/1 I love the Traditional Hawken styles I have and would never shoot my Inline with a scope if I could see those dang iron sights better.
Getting old is not for sissies!

But in route to building a TN flintlock of TN wood and American parts and my sweat and cussing.

FTR my last frontstuffer was a replica Plains Rifle percussion (back before inlines were invented). I'm not even interested in percussion guns now. Have plans for at least three flintlocks-as time and $ permit.

Oh yeah, I had a Ruger cap/ball at one time too. That was a fun percussion arm.

How do you count a t/c Scout? I have a rifle and pistol. If they are traditional it about 10 to 12/1. I have a 209x50 encore barrel.

I have 1 plastic stocked sidelock that I consider to be traditional.
After all, a TC or Lyman made with a lock powered by a coil spring is still traditional isn't it?
I have a Kanhke pistol which I don't consider to be traditional even though the nipple is offset at 45 degrees except the simple pull back hammer is centered in the rear.
So my pistols are 2/1.
My long guns are 14/3, but that could be changing any time now to /4.
But my current total is 16/4.

Inlines not allowed in my house. They shouldn't be allowed in Muzzle Loading season either .

I have what I consider an inline but it was patented in 1837, so I say it's a traditional. AKA: .50 underhammer.
Also have a Renegade in .54 but don't find it necessary to use it on elk sized game at the distance I shoot them.
So: 2/0
I shoot peep sights on both, so you should probably disqualify me on both guns.

You're truely very welcome here and all members really are equal.

The hunting laws support the modern side for the most part.
Some folks yet need to understand that the Civil War is long over.
Praise the current Union!
There's no carpet baggers dictating what's legal in my home state! :neener:

No problems with either Inlines or traditional. Just depends on what i am in the mood for. Thats why my safes have a variety of all and any types of handguns, rifles, shotguns. Just depends on the mood. I find it sometimes just as relaxing and enjoyable to sit down at the range and shoot a modern muzzleloader. Still gets people to turn their heads then makes them a lot more interested in muzzleloaders when they see how modern it looks.

2/0. I just don't see the point in getting a non-traditional muzzleloader. It's not like there's a huge difference in performance between the two. A Hawken replica will do just about everything a modern inline will and it's not some kind of contrived anachronism.

I do have a compound bow, but there's a world of difference in performance between a modern compound bow and a traditional bow.

1/1 just getting back into BP

in the old days, nothing changed.. now it seems like there are a couple of hundred variables in BP shooting..
