Ok… I was cleaning my Beretta 92FS the other night and I noticed a small hair line crack in the polished area of the barrel. (Where the bullet feeds into the barrel) that goes from the middle to the right side and extends to the flat side where the slide impacts. On further inspection I noticed that under the stop block on the barrel their was what appeared to be a crack (external) that ran from middle point in barrel on left side under the barrel to the mid point on the right side. Looking inside the barrel I can see no signs of a crack inside the barrel or in the riffling. Is my barrel shot or is that crack that is external from the factory. The only reason that I say that is that I have only owed this pistol for a few months and have not noticed that external part before but could have been overlooked because I have changed my area where I clean now and it is a lot more quite and not as many interruptions as before.

Anyone own a 92fs that I could compare notes with ??

Yeah, that's bad news! I'll bet Berretta will make good on that with no questions asked!

ohhh......sorry I should have stated this in the begining. This is not a new pistol. I am at least the third owner of this pistol. I can trace it back to the past two owners but no further.

A cracked chamber/barrel is a real safety issue, and I'll bet Beretta makes good on it anyway! They'd be fooolish not to.

Agree with Keith.
Give em a try.

Do NOT shoot it.
