Well, it happened again. Dog-gone pistol reached out & tripped me - this time at the gun range. Was shooting my Colt .45 Commander for the 1st time & a fellow shooter stopped to chat. He was shooting his new Kimber for the 1st time & was as thrilled as I at our new .45's. But he mentioned that he was going to put his home defense gun, a Walther .380, on consignment soon now.... oops, caught again.

After some minor haggling, I got his 1996 LNIB Stainless Walther (USA) with less than 100 rounds through it for $275. Shot the last 7 rounds from his box & put all in a 6 inch spread at 7 yards. I'm sure I could do better with practice. Seems like I got a good deal. Came back home & checked the online ads - couldn't find any LNIB for less than $400. Whoopee!

Oh yeah - got to add to my signature again. I've got to do more shootin' & less buyin' :p

Don't use after market mags! They jam...badly!! Use only the "Walther" bannered mags available from Smith and Wesson!!!!

Good gun, mine works really well!! :D

That is a heck of a good price. If you don't end up likeing it, you should have no problem selling it and getting all your money back. You may even make a few bucks on the deal. If you like it, you got a good gun for a great price and you will be happy. I don't see any downside to the deal you made. That is the good thing about buying cheap, even if you don't keep it, it doesn't hurt the wallet when you sell.;)

I had a Walther PP in .32acp which I recently sold and I thought it was a really well made gun. It had quite a bit of recoil for a .32acp and the DA trigger was heavy and stiff but it was a neat little package, if it had been a .380, I would have kept it. The .32acp cartridge is out of my life forever and as far as I am concerned, they should just stop making guns in this caliber.

I love the design of the Walther PPKS, they are beautiful well made guns. I bought mine used years ago, I think I paid $400 for it. The only problem was mine cut the hell out of my hand everytime I shot it. Slice & Dice didn't sit to well with me, so I ended up selling mine - got $450 - and bought a Kahr PM9. I am very happy with the PM9, more power and less weight...and no cut hands.

Thanks for the caution about Slice & Dice - the seller cautioned me about that as well. But I've never had a problem in that regard - apparently my strong-hand hold is low enough naturally; & I've never used the off-hand crossed-over thumb support technique.

Thanks also for the confirmation about the good deal. Sometimes you just get lucky - there were so many ways I could have missed out on this.

I saw some online dealer ads for over $500 for this gun LNIB +shipping, +FFL ! I realize that dealers have to make a living, but I certainly recommend private sales if you can find them.

Finally got this gun into my gunsmith to be checked-out. He too guessed I had paid $450-$500 & I had to re-tell my good-luck story.

I had decided I wanted to use Federal HydraShok (90 grain JHP) ammo & asked the gunsmith to check the trigger & do whatever was needed to make the gun reliable for that round. I brought about 40 rounds for him to use in testing.

He dry-fired the gun a few times & said - just wait a minute. He went into the back & fired a clip into his sandbed & came back out. His pronouncement: It's fine just the way it is! Not a bit of hesitation in functioning. Even the trigger has no drag - he said if he polished it up I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, so I should just save my money.

I've put a small strip of the grey griptape on the front & back of the grip to overcome the slickness of the exposed SS. I've purchased a High Noon "Hidden Ally" holster for it, but I still feel more comfortable carrying in my SmartCarry. I eventually will get a Crimson Trace lasergrip - cuz my old eyes love them.

My P.P.K. is a dandy little gun, and I'd like it even more if I'd found it at the price you paid. Sweet!
