The new Ruger Vaquero comes with black plastic grips. Will the old style factory wood grips fit?

The New Vaquero has what Ruger calls the "XR3 Red" Frame, which is different from the older models. Ruger sells some wood grips on their website that will fit this frame, but also don't forget about Ajax, Hogue, and KRW just to name a few. If you want it and you're willing to pay, you can get it.

Several hundred Ruger grips listed on evil-bay, new to used. Some good buys can be had.

Ok do mean a new Vaquero or a New Vaquero? Two different models using two different frame and grip frames. If you have the New Vaquero they're different than the common grip frames of the Vaquero, Blackhawk and Single Six. These new grip frames of the New vaqueros as well as those on the 50th Ann flat top models are not the same as the old XR3 frames as the locator pin hole is in a different location to accomodate the locking mechanism.

There's not a lot seen on ebay as there's realy only that one style available one th shipped models. others are available from Rugr or a number of aftermarket manufacturers. I'd recommend Klamath River Woodworks, caryC or 41 magnum over on Ruger forum.
