Is unique a good choice for .40 S&W? I've looked and havn't found much data on it. If so, what grain of boolit and powder? Thanks

Its an excellent choice, extremely versatile powder. Unique fills the case, its bulky, so its pretty much impossibel to double charge it. My loads are accurate and consistent with Unique. One caveat though, even the "new" Unique is dirty, after about 150 rds, my XD-40 is fouled up pretty good.

Unique is working good for me in the .40. Sometimes if a reduced loading is pretty dirty, I have found that upping the charge a little will give a better burn and reduce the fouling.

Yep, Unique should be a great powder for .40.

I like Universal Clays in .40 myself, and I have no doubt Universal Clays was designed to be Hodgdons answer to Unique and its versatility. Alliant sells a ton of Unique. ;)
