Prettiest Pistols
StrateShooter

What do you think are the prettiest pistols? My favourite looks-wise is the 1911 but other real beauties are the Ruger-Luger-Nambu, HS Supermatics, Colt Woodsman-Targetsman-Huntsman, Browning Buck Mark and HP, 9 mm Berettas, SA Bobcat-Sig Sauer P230 SL, Llamas, Taurus, Ruger 90s, Walther P-38, PPK, and TPH, and the Explorer. The unsightly ones are most of the single-shots which aren't very practical anyways.

Uh, sorry all, that's not my pistol, just a photo I saved from another post on another site. I can't recall the owner's name, but I hope he doesn't mind me posting these photos.
AFAIK, that's a Colt WWI repro, the 1st gen. WMK model in Carbonia Blue. It was sent to the Colt Custom Shop for polishing and the Royal Blue finish. That's all I really "know", but I do have more photos. I don't want to hijack the thread, but if the OP wants to see them, I guess y'all could peek over his shoulder.
Oh, I do have this lovely Rock Island GI that I had polished and blued locally, after I put on all the Tactical parts. It's a sweetheart! I've really got to take some more, better photos of it. It really is nicer than the photos I have reflect. Treo just got to see it yesterday, ask him.

FWIW, I've always been very partial to the older S&W and Colt revolvers with that deep blue finish. Always thought those were the prettiest, until I discovered 1911's anyway.

One man's beauty is another man's bowser, but I've always found it tough to disagree with those folks who think that the Walther PPK, wearing a fine blue coat, is as pretty as it gets in the gun world -- something akin to a lovely woman wearing a simple black dress.

It's kind of funny how perceptions change. There are a lot of votes on here for the 1911, I'm certainly not going to argue with them. It's a good looking gun. What's funny about it is that the 1911 used to be known as "Old Ugly" by many a gun writer.

My vote goes for the Whitney. A lot of people think it's over the top but at least they tried. Most semi-autos look way too utilitarian. When they made this one, they put as much time & effort into form (probably more) as they did with function. Except for the Wolverine, I'm more attached to my revolvers because they're rounder, curvier & more naturally shaped and they generally feel better in hand. I don't like to look at or handle a blocky anything.
Oh yeah: It's the wickedest shooting .22 around. Try one if you get a chance. Never jams, has a trigger to die for and, to boot, it's a monster tack driver. I've owned another one and it shot the same so I don't think it's a fluke.
One I own:
