What do you think are the prettiest pistols? My favourite looks-wise is the 1911 but other real beauties are the Ruger-Luger-Nambu, HS Supermatics, Colt Woodsman-Targetsman-Huntsman, Browning Buck Mark and HP, 9 mm Berettas, SA Bobcat-Sig Sauer P230 SL, Llamas, Taurus, Ruger 90s, Walther P-38, PPK, and TPH, and the Explorer. The unsightly ones are most of the single-shots which aren't very practical anyways.

Here's one single shot that's not ugly!
High Standard Supermatics indeed.
I'll have to cast another vote to Browning Medalists of which I do not own.

rondog~Where or how did you get that 1911 finished? NICE!

Hard to beat any pistol in Royal Blue, IMO.
The OP was asking about pretty pistols. Yours does not fit because it is absolutely stunning, rondog. Please post more pics of this gun because I would like to make it my wallpaper, with your permission of course.

that royal blue is sweeeeeet

Rondog, I believe you have unintentionally hijacked this post. Words cannot describe the beauty of that finish. How much time goes in to buffing that sucker after your done handling that one?

Uh, sorry all, that's not my pistol, just a photo I saved from another post on another site. I can't recall the owner's name, but I hope he doesn't mind me posting these photos.
AFAIK, that's a Colt WWI repro, the 1st gen. WMK model in Carbonia Blue. It was sent to the Colt Custom Shop for polishing and the Royal Blue finish. That's all I really "know", but I do have more photos. I don't want to hijack the thread, but if the OP wants to see them, I guess y'all could peek over his shoulder.
Oh, I do have this lovely Rock Island GI that I had polished and blued locally, after I put on all the Tactical parts. It's a sweetheart! I've really got to take some more, better photos of it. It really is nicer than the photos I have reflect. Treo just got to see it yesterday, ask him.
There's always something about an old National Match Colt: http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p263/twagger/guns/COLTNM2.jpg

One man's beauty is another man's bowser, but I've always found it tough to disagree with those folks who think that the Walther PPK, wearing a fine blue coat, is as pretty as it gets in the gun world -- something akin to a lovely woman wearing a simple black dress.

The Luger is classic. The PPK is a great looking gun. Those Germans sure know how to build a handsome handguns.
I love these threads because it's just an excuse to post pics of sweet guns! Here is my Colt Commander, which I think is a pretty gun, but I'm also attracted to some H&Ks and Sigs as well. Then again, something about the simplicity of a Glock is sexy to me:)
I have yet to find another auto that I like as much. 1911s just arnt my can of mountain dew, I prefer a little more round capacity, and less cost. But dont get me wrong 1911s look pretty stinking amazing.

I believe this is the nicest looking I own. Para Ordnance Slim Hawg .45 acp,
It's kind of funny how perceptions change. There are a lot of votes on here for the 1911, I'm certainly not going to argue with them. It's a good looking gun. What's funny about it is that the 1911 used to be known as "Old Ugly" by many a gun writer.

I think the 92fs is one of the best looking auto pistols. And for a revolver i've
always thought the S&W 586 looks great !
There was always something about a two tone 1911....

Beretta 951 or the Egyptian clone the Helwan Brigadier

My vote goes for the Whitney. A lot of people think it's over the top but at least they tried. Most semi-autos look way too utilitarian. When they made this one, they put as much time & effort into form (probably more) as they did with function. Except for the Wolverine, I'm more attached to my revolvers because they're rounder, curvier & more naturally shaped and they generally feel better in hand. I don't like to look at or handle a blocky anything.
Oh yeah: It's the wickedest shooting .22 around. Try one if you get a chance. Never jams, has a trigger to die for and, to boot, it's a monster tack driver. I've owned another one and it shot the same so I don't think it's a fluke.

It's bone stock, and will eventually sport some nicer stocks, but I am really smitten with this one right now. I'm sure the newness has a lot to do with it, since I just got this thing, but I sure do like it.

+1 for the Dan Wesson CBOB.
Here's a Severn's Custom CBOB with a HardHat finish and Sarge's Bubinga grips.
