I have a 20 gage remington model 17 pump shot gun in very good shape. I have no info on this but do know not to fire plastic shells in it. I still have a bunch of paper hull shells from my father in law that I use. I want to start clearing out the old gun locker and I'm wondering if it's worth keeping.

The 17 was the grand-daddy of the Model 37 Ithaca.
No reason you can't fire plastic shells in it.
They are loaded to the same pressure specs as paper shells once were, and all 17's have 2 3/4" chambers.
As for value:
My older book lists them at G=250 VG = 300 EXC = 350.
On the otherhand, there is this:

If you are tempted to disassemble that gun, don't yield. A Pedersen design, it is another one of those "easy disassembly, hard reassembly" guns.

My understanding of Peterson designs are, he never used one part when two would do.
