I cannot express my joy over Missouri's progress. It was also incredibly strange, to me at least, that a state filled with such dedicated gun nuts that this would be such a problem.

Considering the previous POS sheriff we had, who went on record as saying that in his opinion, "Private folks don't have no need to be totin' around no guns", Sheriff Matlock is a breath of fresh air and a sensible no-nonsense lawman. He made it clear during his election campaign that he was a staunch believer in 2nd amendment rights for ALL people and not just law enfocement's elite. He also said publicly that every law abiding private citizen had the right to protect themselves anywhere, anytime because "we just can't be everywhere at the right time".
That being said, I can understand Sheriff Matlock's desire to get things done right with the permit process since he was a supporter of CCW.
