Yes, over there it is considered a noise pollution device and isn't associated with "violent crime" like it is here in the US.

Of course, its hard enough to get the actual shotgun over there, and even if you had it, you could never use it for anything other than regulated hunting, so I guess it is kind of moot.

In the U.K it is your right to own a shotgun, you have to get a certificate which is a pita but the police have to prove a good reason for you not to own one, rather than you having to prove you a reason to own one.

Oh and while I'm here, we have a lot less strict rules than you guys for some kinds of hunting, however you must have the permission of the landowner, there isnt much "common land" except for the foreshores.

Don't know why I bothered typing all that though, seeing as no doubt none of you will ever read it ...
