Can't help you with the Panther, but you might try the Dan Wesson section at the 1911.com forum. The guys having various DW products aren't shy about giving both the good and the ugly concerning their pistola's. I own three DW's myself and consider them a great value for the money.

Know what? Yesterday that's exactly what I ended up doing! Thanks, though for mentioning it.

I found out it's a good 'value' 1911 that's a real shooter, which is what I want it for. I liked what I read about it so much I went ahead and bought one! :cool:
