I have a Rem 1100 that says 12 gauge magnum for 3in shell. Is it ok to shoot 2 3/4 in shells from it or do I have to use 3in only. RG

You can use 2 3/4" shells in it just fine. You may find that the occasional extra light load won't cycle it so well, but that'll be a rare occurance (if my experiences with an 1100 Magnum are any indication).

thanks a bunch. Some of my friends are going out skeet shooting in the am and it is the only shotgun I have that doesn't have an 18.5 in barrel on it. Just wanted to make sure. RG

No problem shooting 2&3/4 loads through the magnum gun, but don't be surprised if those skeet loads do not cycle the action. Most of the magnums that have not been tinkered with take a heavy field load as a minumum to run well.
