Hello, I picked up a model 12 with a 3" chamber today. I went to put shells in it and found it would only hold two. I figure this has a duck plug in it but I do not know how to open the mag tube to take it out. Any help would be appreciated. Also any info. would also be great. Serial #10679XX. I was told this is called a heavy duck? The condition is 97% of orginal blueing and has an orange Winchester butt pad. The bad is that the barrel was a full choke but someone put a polychoke on it. The barrel measures 28" to the end including the poly. The barrel reads FOR SUPER SPEED & SUPER-X. Thanks for any help. Best Regards

1946 according to Dave Rifles numbers...
to get the plug out you have to remove the mag tube end cap [held in by two little screws and the take down pin]....remove the screws first, then remove the take down pin...hold onto the end cap or it will go flying as will the mag tube spring.....
