I was at the local shop today and saw a generation 1 glock 19, which i prefer without the finger groves, it was a factory refurb, which i knew that sig did that but i had never heard if a glock refurb. it comes with three mags, and still has the factory warranty, they wanted $425 but i am sure if the owner is there i could get it for less. the funny thing is they sell the brand new 19's for $499. what would be a good price if i could get the owner down too? $375?
What is the going rate that you guys see of refurb glocks around yall.

I've bought several used and new Glocks and the floor in my experience is around $400. I would consider anything less that than either one beat up gun or a steal. One just isn't taking much risk buying a lemon when it comes to Glocks.

Even used I've given $450 for one with aftermarket sights.

I get tell you about the best place to buy a used Glock. www.summitgunbroker.com he is a good guy to deal with and his prices are generally the best that I have found. He has been very busy lately with the possibility of a new ban coming so his stock might be a little low. By the way $425 is too much for a first gen.

I've seen G22s locally for $399. Gander had them. I do not know who does the refurb, however...

+1 on summitgunbroker. He used to have a great selection. I haven't gotten anything there in a year but he had great customer service and good prices also.

CDNN has refurbished Glocks all the time, usually between $300 and $350 if I remember correctly. Some have night sights or other options, but they're usually pretty reasonable.

He probably wont find a 19 at any price.
But let's say CDNN had them at $339. It's 20 to ship. And then he has to pay a transfer fee, let's say $20. So that brings it up to 379. Add the mags, the warranty and the fact that he can look at it and hold it right there and I would say $425 is a fair price.

which i knew that sig did that but i had never heard if a glock refurb.

A friend of mine worked for a company that was doing business with Glock so they got a VIP tour of the facility in Smyrna. As they went through the plant he had a conversation with one of the techs and it turned to refurbs. The tech told him that he felt that a refurb was the best deal possible. A new Glock is assembled and inspected by their assemblers, but each refurb is inspected and acted upon by their techs, their most skilled and most knowledgeable employees. He felt that counted for a lot.

When I bought a used G36 and drove it over to Glock to have the slide re-blackened the gun was gone over from top to bottom, evaluated and any part found to be worn was replaced. The gun was then test fired and came back to me with a full report. That meant a lot to me and that is basically what getting a refurb means (sans report).

Around here I never see used 17 & 19 Glocks below $399. New ones go for $499 with stock plastic sights. $559 with the steel night sights. But right now with everthing going on, the dealers sell new G19 as fast as they come in the door. So they rarely have them.

With CDNN they charge very high for shipping & handling cost + you would have to pay FFL transfer cost + extra hassel. They aren't such a good in the end.

FWIW Glock never made a 1st generation G19. The 1st generation Glocks G17 & G18 used a textured frame. In 1988 when the G19 came out they changed over to the serrated frontstraps and backstraps on all models this was the 2nd generation frame.

You dont have to add anything for a warranty. Glock backs all their pistols whether tou bought it new or used.

the big issue for me is that i can get a nib glock 19, with three hicaps for $398.20 + tax with my military discount at the Glock LEO dist, but that is all the way in stockbridge and that is a good 3.5 hourse from me, and though gas has gone down, between the gas and the time i think i would rather just buy locally.
