hey guys, had a question for ya. i live in the crappiest of crappy states, illinois, (where our govener makes our licenes plates)and was wondeing about owning a specific weapon in this state. while reading one of my gun magazines, i saw an advertizement of gemtechs new intagrated(built in noies supperesser) 22lr pistol. now, i know that illinois does not allow the use of an add on "silencer", but.... this "silencer", or noise suppressing device is actually part of the pistol itself. buit-in, not an add on part. would this be leagal to own, or not? if no one knows, can someone point me in a direction of someone who would, or somewone to contact??

thanks guys, brian

Nope. Suppression trumps pistol.

What MikeOTDP said.
(720 ILCS 5/24‑1)
Sec. 24‑1. Unlawful Use of Weapons.
(a) A person commits the offense of unlawful use of weapons when he knowingly:
(6) Possesses any device or attachment of any kind
designed, used or intended for use in silencing the report of any firearm;
a person convicted of a violation of subsection 24‑1(a)(6) commits a Class 3 felony.

"Device" is anything designed as part of a firearm.
You definitely don't want a Class 3 felony arrest/conviction on your record.
