What is the best mag loader?

I would prefer a good one that works with 380,9 and 45

I've never used or saw a magloader used so how exactly do you use it?

I am just tired of wearing out my thumb and never gettin the final round in

The UPLula, hands down. I don't think it will load .380, but for everything else, it is the ****. I use it on my HK 9mm, Sig 9mm, Glock .40, and S&W M&P .45 (the .45 is a stone cold bizatch to get the last round in) and it works flawlessly. Best $25 I ever spent

Depends on the mag you're loading. Never seen any need for 'em for handgun mags. They're quicker for battle rifle and SMG mags. If the ammo is in stripper clips. The FN C1A1 had a mag charger that let you fill it, 5 rounds at a time, for a 20 or 30 round mags. You still had to put the 5 in the charger one at a time. Filling mags was a 'make work' thing for the troopies on a CF range. Better than some of the other things I was expected to come up with. Letting the troopies just sit, shoot the excrement and relax wasn't allowed.
Don't think I'd bother with mag loaders for 380, 9mm or 45 mags though. Mag springs aren't that heavy. They're another piece of kit to remember where you put it too.

The best mag loader is a buddy or kid who you sucker into coming to the range with you. Aside from that, there's many different options for many different mags.

I agree with killermonkey, the Uplula. It works great on anything I've tried so far. The SR9 magazines get a bit stiff as the rounds go up. Not a problem with the Uplula.

Another vote for the Uplula, I have a box of mag loaders that I bought for specific guns that are no longer needed. The Uplula loads any of my handgun mags quick and easily.

My thumb.

Maybe I've loaded too many mags, but I've yet to see a magazine that actually needed one. Yes, sometimes they're faster, but that's convenience. I just seem to be the guy that can always get the last round into everyone elses magazines.

Full disclosure, I do use pre-loaded stripper clips for my AR rifles.

This works fine on most of my mags (it is to narrow for my G22 mags). For $1.99 you cant go wrong http://www.cdnninvestments.com/loadtool9mor.html

I believe that if some device is required to load a magazine then something somewhere has gone horribly wrong.

i will never load another pistol mag without it, i love mine, and worth so much more than they cost. I use it all the time, and they really come into thier own during a training course. ie 1200-1300rds in 2 days.

The UPLula, hands down. It' a brutal fact!

I use mine to load my NAA Guardian 380's and 45acps. 380 is the limit on smaller sizes IMHO.

+1 for the UpLULA - will load most Glock (and other) mags fully and easily. There is a short learning curve where you learn to load rounds kind of backwards but after that you won't go back. It is definitely easier on your thumbs.

My only wish is that they made one for the Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit magazines, but I think the feed lips are too close together.

There are many individual loaders that work better on specific mags than the UpLula.
It's your choice, the many or the one.

15 year old young lady.

When her dad and grandpa noticed she was loading mags for me, they looked at each other and ...
They had the same look when she policed the brass too.

I am just the "adopted uncle" and my experience has been a lot of parents and grandparents do not realize they have "mag loaders", "brass police" and "reloading assistant" right there under their nose.

Hint: that person about so tall eating your groceries...*grin*

Agreed on the Uplula, and it handles .380 without a problem too (KT P3AT, and a Walther PPK/S). Will not work with .22 or .25 (had to check the .25 before posting this just to make sure) We keep two in our range bag, and one in our BOB. It makes loading everything from .380 to .45 or 10mm much easier. Two thumbs up! :D

I have 3 handgun magazine loaders.

1 is a dedicated 'thumbsaver' I got at a gun show for Ruger 22 magazines... works for mk 1 or 2, allows you leverage to drepress the magazine button. Well spent couple of bucks.

1 is a designated Luger loading tool (those magazines are a BEAR to get those last 2 rounds in without the tool.

HKS mag loader.. works with several different magazines, requires both hands but beats hand loading BHP mags all day (like at a competition.) Works really well, inexpensive.

If mag loaders were used in the movie "Rainman" starring Duston Hoffman, he would be saying, "Uplula, yea, that's it, uplula, that's the one, yea, uplula":p

This thread reminds me, I need to get an UpLULA. I got a Lula for AR mags and immediately regretted loading up all those stripper clips because the lula was quicker.

Double tap Drew, look into the StripLULA. Its better than the Lula. I have one of those too for Army range days. Trust me, just watch the video on the magpul site. :)

Maglula products are awesome. I use their loader for Colt SMG Lula (9MM AR) and M16/AR15 Lula (.223 AR) all the time.

Drail,
It's obvious you've never seen an UPLULA.

I don't NEED a mag loader to shoot. I don't NEED sights to hit a target, but they sure make it easier.

If you live long enough for your hands to become bony and arthritic you will really appreciate the UpLula.
