Hi, I am thinking of purchasing the Saiga Semi-Auto 12 gauge.. Sorry, I am not sure if this is considered a rifle or shotgun, so I am not sure to post it here or in shotgun forum. Anyhow, I am wanting to buy the gun, but I notice the mags look dang expensive . I see the company AGP is out of stock and normally sells them for $45.00 a piece, but seeing that Obama is coming around, I am not sure if they will be shipped in time. I want to get the 10 round mags. If I buy the gun, should I just buy a couple 10-rd mags that are selling for like $85.00 a piece? I know its highway robbery, but better couple high priced mags than no mags. I like to hear what people think about it. There is very few mags for sale online.. If anyone has cheap or used 10 round saiga 12 mags they coudl sell me I appreciate to know.

The Saiga 12 I see is selling for $588.00 with shipping included. It seems like a good deal, seeing that I see others selling them from $650.00 to over $1000.00. Gee, whats going on with the price gouging. Ouch.

HI, I just bought it.. Yeah, its the best deal I can find.. I feel very fortunate. Seems that there is lot of them around for a short moment, but everyone is charging over $650.

Now, my dilemma is finding the magazines. I cannot find decent priced mags for the Saiga 12 anywhere. The best deal I can find is $169 + $10 shipping for 2 10 round mags. Do you think with the present situation I should buy them? I know the AGP company sells them for $49, but says they are out of stock :banghead: .

Ugh.. Not sure what I can do to get the 10 rd mags.. Also would likea drum, but the price is ridiculous.

Wait for a deal on the mags. The prices will come back down eventually. See if you can get on a backorder list somewhere.

1- yeah, right now the 10 or more round mags are very scarce.

2- should you pay the high prices? dunno, this has to be your call. if i knew for sure they would get banned i'd buy all of 'em i could find and cut you out of the nearly 2X price!

3- yes, this should be in the shotgun section.

Saiga mags can be ordered from Mississippi Auto Arms; they have been very good to me at clearing/honoring backorders quickly and professionally.

I have a few AGP 10 rounders, and I was wondering about something slightly smaller. I know the OEM mags are 5 rounders (have a few of them, too). Wasn't someone making an 8-rounder somewhere?

Factory mags are 8 round. But importing them got kiboshed years ago. WHEN you find them for sale in the US, folks are asking and GETTING about 100 bucks a pop.:what:

Yes - the Russians.

The eight round magazines are Izhmash factory hi-caps. They are kinda like unicorns; widely reputed to exist but never seen in the wild.

Gotcha. So it's OEM 5 rounders and AGP 10s, unless you want to go unicorn hunting or step up to a rotary mag, yes?

Surefire is also introducing a 12rd Saiga-12 magazine; Mississippi Auto Arms is taking pre-orders for them now.

Yep. Pretty much.

Truth be told, I think the 8 rounders are the best all around. Capacity, manueverability, balance, weight, that sort of stuff.

Hi, I just orderd 4 10rd AGP shotgun mags from AGP. They tell me they will be shipping by early January, so it sounds like its worth waiting. However, I am reading on Mississippi Auto Arms site that the gun must be 922r Compliant and out of the box it is not 922r compliant. What must I do and how much will it cost to make the shotgun 922r compliant? I am surprised that the gun cannot take a larger mag. Anyone know about this?

Hello,
If your S-12 is factory stock --IT IS COMPLIANT already -- they are talking about making it look like a AK47.
Ps --- GAT Guns here has the 10rd. S-12 mags for $69 and as of Friday , they had them in stock.

Wouldn't 10 round magazines be exempt?

Depends on what hypothetical law is passed. They drew the line arbitrarily at 10 last time. What makes you think they would draw the line at the same place next time, if they try it again?

GAT is selling the mags for $70.00 a piece. Should I buy them now or just wait for APG to manufacture them for $50.00 a piece? They are the same mag, but APG says they will not ship until January. I did place the order, but I can cancel. I am assuming if they ship them in January, that they will not be banned by then? Would do people think, wait or buy the spendier ones now?

magazines that are already made are not gonna get banned unless you live in some God for saken state that will not let you have them. We, I live in Tx and do not have to worry about such things. Wait for AGP to put them out again for the 49.00 although I thought they were more expensive than that. 69.00 is getting pretty high. And your S-12 is factory compliant even if you add the 10 round mag. The thing you can not do is add the 8 round Russian mag because those are not American made. Anything that counts as one of the assault parts has to be American made. If you convert the saiga to an ak style with pistol grip and side folder/collapsible stock then they have to be American made or you can face problems. Saiga 12 forum has plenty of info on these and other laws. Also, you might try R&R guns. they had them in a short time ago for 599.00. Military gun supply in Tx also had them for the same price. There was one other place that you could get them from in Tx that I know about but cannot remember. You can also get the MD arms 20 round drum. Do not pay some rediculous gouge price from the internet, go to the md arms site . They are 230 plus shipping to your house and the next load should be shipping in a couple of weeks. Some of the asshats are trying to get 300-500 dollars for them because others do not know where to go to buy them. RG

The AGPs show up here pretty regularly. Same price as AGP site w/ free shipping.

Outstanding 5 round mags. I have 6 of these and have had no problems. Fit my Saiga perfectly and have functioned 100%.

Surefire makes some fine Saiga 12 mags as well. I'd go with Surefires. The only complaint I've ever heard about Surefires is the ones for the Saiga .410 won't feed the exotic metal-hulled Barnaul shells. They feed all standard shells flawlessly.

Buy the Saiga 12. You won't regret it.

Then there are the MD Arms (http://www.mdarms.com/Scripts/default.asp) 20-rd drums - I'm waiting on the next batch to ship. :)

I paid $515+tax for my IZ109 a couple of months ago. Dealer price is/was $485 and change.

I have a couple of the AGP mags on backorder at 44mag.com. I believe I'll wait instead of paying gouger's prices.

I tried calling Surefire, but you wait forever on the phone. I never got to talk to a human. How sure are you that the Surefire 12 round mags will be available by time Hussein gets into power? I am confident I can get the 10 rounders in time. I mean is it worth the risk and extra price for an extra 2 mags? The 10 rounders are already a bit bulky looking. I have seen a 20 round drum which looks cool, but they are selling for like $500. Also, I don't really know how feasiblea 20 round drum would be on a semi-auto shotgun.

You must not have read some of the above posts because I believe you can go to md arms web site and order them right now for 250 shipped to your door. You pay 1/2 up front and the other at the time it ships. They will be shipping this batch in a couple of weeks. They will be making more of them also. No need to pay somebody 500 for something that is no where's near that kind of cost. RG

Also, as of right now you can go to Mississippi Arms and order them right now. 48.95per. They have 120 of them for pre order. I would not wait that long though because he told me those were the 120 left out of the 1k that they have coming in.
