Ive been an active hunter in Md for 4 years now and for 4 years I have yet to get a deer, both in shotgun/rifle and muzzleloader seasons. I guess life teaches you humility as I see deer constantly all year long but when I pick up a firearm they turn into ghosts. For my sanity's sake, Ill save my vacation and stick to goose and duck hunting the next few years :scrutiny:

I know your pain...I am in the same boat here in VA. The last time I killed a deer it was with my Jeep 5yrs ago when heading home late one night from work (it broke my grill and put a hole in my radiator). I went hunting 11 times this year with bow, muzzle loader, and rifle, and seen no deer.

Guys, cheer up, it's not you.

It's the same as real estate, location, location, location.

You can have all the bells, whistles, experience, tips, etc., but if there are no deer, you aren't going to get one.

I went a few dry years, but now go with a friend to his spot where we see many deer every time we go there.

His harvest this year was 1 with bow, 2 with rifle, and 1 with muzzleloader. He's a single guy, and honestly, I don't know what he does with all the venison, or where he stores it.

I gave up bow hunting after 3 years of not harvesting a deer. I now only get firearms permits. I know and feel your pain.
