I've found my favorite revolver

I started collecting firearms when I was 18. I started collecting revolvers (mostly N frames) when I was 24. Now two years later I have finally found my favorite handgun (revolver or pistol). I even prefer it to my dad's 4" Python and my 6" Python and 6" 27-2. It doesn't get any better than this 27-2 5" (at least not in the realm I will ever be able to afford i.e. Registered Magnum):

P.S.: Despite it's perfection, I will still carry my 4" 28-2

Your 5" Model 27 has a wide trigger. Not as good as a narrow trigger for double action work. My 6" Model 27-2 has the narrow trigger and one of the best double action trigger pulls I have seen on a factory revo.
These days I prefer stainless. My favorite revo is a 627-5PC, a 5" stainless N frame .357. Sweet PC trigger. Very accurate. Weighs 46.2 oz. My 6" 27-2 weighs 48 oz. (both with Pachmayr Presentation grips.)

Great minds think alike...
The 27 family is my favorite handgun and I particularly like the 5" barrel.
Blued 27-2 from around 1968.

Another 27 5" fan here! Certainly the best all around big frame .357. Yes I have Pythons.Yes I have 6" and 4" everything else. Still, a 27 5" has the velocity that makes the .357 a MAGNUM and is not unwieldy.

That nickel 27 from 1960 is gorgeous.
M27 just added to my list of must haves.

The 5" 27 is the finest revolver S&W made IMHO. Have a 5" looking for a 4".

The 5" Model 27 has got to be considered as one of the finest, most perfectly balanced, .357 Magnum revolvers ever built.
