I've got the debate on now. Where do you all find such idiots? I thought we had it bad with Daley et all here, but I'm firmly convinced after watching this, that Fidel and Che are the idols of most of the people in this debate....Daley is just a crook...These people should be in the UN representing 3d world countries...

I agree in part...but McClintock is the kind of man that would earn my vote in a heartbeat. He is a straight shooter, a true conservative, and the kind of man that isn't afraid to speak the truth, rather than whats politically correct.

McClintock is the only one with any sense in the debate. Arnold is NOT Ronald Reagan. I don't think he has a clue about anything.....
And what's up with Huffington wnating to fight the Bush Administration? I don't see how Washington is at fault in California's internal problems.

Petie pete and Huff and puff are idiots, complete morons. They are to politics, what the exxon valdez was to oil leaks. Boost your money just wants to boost my money, and he calls it love. Ahnold memorized a hell of o lot of talking points, but spent too much time sparing with Ms Huff and puff. Tom McClintock was concise and spot on.

...I'd vote for McClintock
I already did by absentee ballot. The folks on Fox TV News all agreed that McClintock gave, by far, the strongest presentation: he stated his rock-solid support for the 2nd and made Arnold look like the Hollywood Steroid B.S.'er that he is. I pray to G_D that McClintock wins... :fire:

I tuned in and out, sometimes switching to Raw Deal on USA where Arnold was blowing away as many bad guys as Charles Bronson. The demagoguery from Bustmante--equating national security concerns about licenses for illegals with racism towards immigrants--was about what I expected, knowing of his ties to the militant MECHA. Ariana is an irrelevant banshee. The young woman asking the question "How will you as governor provide health care for all Californians?" also was up to expectations. That state full of Marxists may as well break off and sink into the ocean like the garbage scow that it is.

As I believe some people on the board predicted, McClintock was heads and shoulders above anyone else. Arnold seemed to flounder with every question and next to McClintock seemed to have almost nothing specific to say. Huffington came off as shrill, and confrontational. She seemed to want to pick fights and badmouth people and parties more than she did Bush. She, and Arnold too for that matter, had a tendancy to paint people with broad strokes -- ie, her "you're a Republican so you must agree with Bush" smoke and mirrors act. Bustamonte was a democrat, which explains enough. Finally, that Green Party candidate (That's who that guy was, right?) came off as a substitute democrat.

I thought that Arnold did okay, but McClintock did much better. Hopefully Arnold will bow out and we (I) won't have to make that choice.
Arnold didn't have much choice about sparring with Huffington, since she spent about half her speaking time attacking him and to a somewhat lesser degree, Bush.
Seemed like Bustamante didn't want to talk much. It seemed that he was more than pleased to have someone interrupt and commandeer his talking time.
The Green (red) Party guy was just kooky. Repeat "the rich need to pay their fair share" a hundred times and you have the picture.
Of course, do any of these people really want to ride the train wreck that CA has become?

Yeah, McClintock seems like a good candidate. The problem is he can't win if you believe the poll numbers. Staying in and taking votes from Swchartenegger, he all but garantees a Socialist govenor.
The real deciding factor me was in realizing that he has never compromised. Now that may sound admirable but successful politics is all about compromise. So many Democrats (Socialists) despise him that he could never be an effective govenor. Arnold isn't my perfect candidate, but I think he has the ability to do what it will take to begin turning this mess around.

My nickle is on Ahnold fronting and McClintock getting into some advisory job with strong policy influence. See if McClintock doesn't do a gracious bow out soon. Take one for the team if you will. He's too sharp to split the votes.

What's with that Green Party guy? He wants Kyoto, UN, more Socialist programs, and, oh yeah, he once ran for President as a SOCIALIST!
Just where could he be coming from?
I especially loved his unsubstantiated claim that Latinos are taxed at a far greater rate that European Americans. I can see it now:
Scene: California Department of Equalization waiting line.
"Race?"
"Latino."
"Your taxes are $1,000. Next!"
"Race?"
"European American."
"Your taxes are $200. Next!"
:banghead: Whadda idgit!

SAN FRANCISCO — Republican Congressman Darrell Issa, who bankrolled the effort to get the California gubernatorial recall on the ballot, said Monday he was adamant that either state Senator Tom McClintock or Arnold Schwarzenegger drop out of the race.
If neither does, Issa said he would urge Republican voters to reject the recall because it would assure a victory by Democratic Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante.
Speaking in San Francisco, Issa said, "As someone who some people call 'the godfather of the recall,' nobody should be more determined to remove Gray Davis from office."
Issa spent $1.7 million of his own money putting the recall question on the ballot.

Here in Maryland, far away from California, the only radio news comment on the debate was on Arnold and Huffington's personal battle. They played her "You know how to treat women" sound byte.
I love how her platform seems to be "It's George Bush's fault" (in a STATE election!):D
What a circus!

Tom McClintock is already in the state senate and his conservative principles serve the state well there. We just need more like him.
Arnold, OTOH, would be a better Governor and may be able to persuade those left of center to do the right thing for a change. McClintock would simply alienate anyone whos opinion he opposed.

McClintok can't win, even if Arnold bows out and supports him. If McClintok stays in the race our next Governor will be Bustamante.................. i'll hafta move out of state.

I think it's sad how none of the local talk radio or *anyone* for that matter is willing to back McClintok. He's the only one in the bunch worth anything. Arnold *is* a socialist, he's FOR gun control and a bunch of other stuff. Sure, he keeps repeating that "in principal" he is against more taxes, but he still has not explained how he will meet any of his goals. As a matter of fact, he has not stated ANY goals! I dunno...I got a bad feeling that BustaMeCHA is gonna win and turn this place into Azetlan in 12 months flat.
I was planning on moving to Nashville in April. May have to do so sooner if he gets in office. I think things will get real bad real quick if that happens
Oh, and here is a .transcript (http://www.sacbee.com/content/politics/recall/story/7473699p-8416145c.html) of the debate

McClintock won't win, since Socialism is the order of the day in Kalifornia.
Ahnuld is socialism lite and definitely the lesser of two evils, if you consider this race in a democrat/republican frame of mind.
McClintock is the kind of man that would earn my vote in a heartbeat. He is a straight shooter, a true conservative, and the kind of man that isn't afraid to speak the truth, rather than whats politically correct.
Come on!
You KNOW folks who are straight shooters never get elected and certainly not re-elected.
