.22 - Most accurate ammo

I have a S & W Model 63 that is very accurate. To avoid testing every brand of ammo, what have you all found to be the most accurate .22 ammo in solids and hollowpoints?

Individual .22's can show preferences for certain ammo. I use three types of ammo in a half dozen different .22's not because I like variety, but because the guns perform better with different loads. Sorry, but you probably will have to do some testing if you want to wring the best out of any particular weapon. :(

What Pappy John said, plus you will find lot to lot inconsistancy within one type of ammo. Hardcore target shooters will buy-up all the ammo of the same lot that they can get their hands on once they find one that shots well in their gun.

Anyone ever try the Acu'rzr? I saw a review at http://www.gunblast.com/Paco_Scorpn.htm and it looks like that might be just the ticket!

Wolf Match Target has shot well for me in several rifles and a Ruger Mark II pistol.
It might be worth trying.

About the only way is to buy a 50 box of everything you can get your hands on. I've heard good things about Wolf, made the mistake of buying a full brick only to find out that my 2 main .22's don't care for the stuff. My 10/22 does very well with CCI Mini Mags, and my Savage Striker is just scary accurate with CCI Standard Velocity. Both of them do pretty well with Remington Target. But your pistol may throw them all over creation.

I usually start with C.C.I. Green Tag and standard velocity, since they're usually the most accurate in most of my .22 caliber pistols. That saidâ„¢, one of my High Standards absolutely will not handle those loads, and my pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 617 seems to prefer the cheap stuff.
If anyone ever invents a substitute for trial and error with ammunition, he'll be wealthy in P.D.Q. order, I predict.

My 63 shot fairly good groups with Remington ammo, although it was dirty and frequently jammed the cylinder. CCI and Winchester Super-X grouped nearly as well without the jam ups. My autos prefer the CCI and Winchester brands almost exclusively for accuracy.

To avoid testing every brand of ammo,
Now why in the world would you want to do that? Thats half the fun!;)
I have good luck with CCI Mini-Mags, and certain federal loads depending on the lot.

blue being the color of the standard velocity round box labels
the plastic boxes of 100 seem to shoot better than the cardboard boxes of 50, don't know why.
all else aside, it has been the most reliable i've found in terms of misfire and is consistently accurate as far as i can tell
out of my ruger MKII target model
fwiw,,,most of the shooters in my league prefer this ammo
happy shootin' !!
:D
