Anyone here carry one for CCW? What kind of rig do you carry it in? Any IWB? What kinds of IWB holdsters do you like? Any input is greatly appreciated. I am wanting to carry mine IWB with shirt tucked or untucked.

IWB from Milt Sparks called 'Summer Special'. Top notch!

For those of us who aren't mind-readers, what is a 1911A1 "L"? Longslide? Lightweight? Liberal? Inquiring minds want to know.

:D

Best regards.

Umm yeah, what is the "L" for ?? Otherwise, I'd suggest any of Sparks IWB's. Sparks sends you a letter confirming your order, and will custom make a holster if you want. For leather, they are my favorite. There are other good brands available these days.........

In Kydex, I've had great results with Blade Tech's IWB's, and have a Side Armor OWB on order.

Mag pouches from Mernickle, Sparks & Side Armor are great.

Wilson combat has a real nice, formed, horsehide iwb that is rough side out.

It rides nice, stays put and with the right clothing conceals very well.

I'm not sure what the "L" is either. I just picked up a Comp-TAC IWB C-TAC Kydex for my Govt. model. I like it!

Tuckable, fully adjustable and the slide version allows different length guns to be carried so you can carry your Commander or Long Slide in the same holster. My Govt. model disappears in it. They had super quick delivery too.

I carry a Colt Series 80 Gov't model in a Desantis Inner Piece Iwb holster. Spare mag is carried in a Don Hume mag holder.

Para P14.45 or P13 or Springfield Champion or Kimber Pro Carry or Kimber Ultra Carry....in a G&G pancake or a Tucker IWB or G&G S.O.B or Bianchi belt slide or "Mexican" carry.

I really want a Tucker Heritage Classic but haven't got it yet.

Kinda picky, huh?:D

The "L" is a designator for "loaded".

I carry a full size 1911 on a Rosen 1.5" contoured belt in a Sparks Summer Special II holster.

HiFi,

Thanks; I learned something new. Although I own a full-size, stainless Springfield Loaded, I never before saw or heard of the ā€œLā€ designation. I appreciate the education.

I also suggest the Milt Sparks Summer Special II.

I have had some of their products for over 20 years!
Recently got a new VM2H(Versa Max 2 Horsehide) IWB with the optional kydex clips. So it can be worn IWB or as a Tuckable.
DO NOT forget to get the belt! A quality gunbelt is a REQUIREMENT for daily concealed carry. Helps to distribute weight too.
A mag pouch is most useful...might as well order that. Which one? Arrrgh! I have a single, a single w/cuff's, a single w/surefire, a double and a quad(duty). And it is MOST challenging to decide which to wear on a given day!!
Wilson mags reign supreme for 1911's!
Mitch Rosen, and Kramer have excellant reps. And Raftergunleather.com are the folks that make leather for wilson's...so you can go direct and save!! And they have some exotic material they use at reasonablwe prices. Sharkskin, Ostrich for example.
But I would say horse or shark for an IWB, better absorbing moisture so it does not get on your handgun!
A white light(surefire) and 'tactical' folder are also quite handy to have for daily carry!

The best holster I have found to hide a 5ā€ 1911 under a tee-shirt is the Alessi/BCP GWH.....

The Sparks Summer Special is another great IWB although a bit less cancelable than the GWH.

Springfield Armory WWII Mil-Spec (modified) in a Milt Sparks "Watch Six". Having the loops to either side of the pistol lessens the bulge and secures the cant.

I have a Galco Summer Comfort that is pretty good. But my next one is going to be an Alessi GWH.

Milt Sparks holds both my Kimber CDP and my Kimber TLE. The VM II is the way to go and is as comfortable as I have yet to find.:)
