Is the Ruger like it's centerfire conterparts and pinned together,so that the internals are difficult to access,or do they have screws?

The Ruger Old Army is put together with screws and is relatively simple to disassemble for cleaning.

Unless they have changed it recently, the Old Army uses screws, like the old model Blackhawks.

The "story" that I heard was that when the Blackhawk went from the "Old Model" with screws to the "New Model" with pins, some of the tooling for the old model was left over and that was part of the inspiration for the Old Army. Put the old tooling to use.
