... last Monday on the first shot of the first stage of my club's weekly IPSC practice match. Its right "ear" cracked and effectively bound the pistol. It took me and the RO a while to come to the conclusion of letting me work it open at the nearby SZ... yes, we could establish that the brass in the bound gun _was_ empty by then.

The upside is, the pistol has had around 22.000 rounds through it without major malfunction up until now. Not kidding. Very well worth its price.

The downside is, Taurus Lifetime Repair Policy most definitely doesn't extend to this side of the globe and I'll have to deal with the local, very rude and unprofessional, importer, involving good money. Mine, that is.

While at it, I thought of ordering an entire upper in version 92BNS. The 99 slide is holster-worn and scratched and the lame excuse of an "adjustable" rear sight isn't anymore :scrutiny:  :D . The fall nights are getting dark and I want some tritium happening.

I think you got a decent amount of rounds through it before it failed. I heard that you should replace the locking block every 10,000 rounds or so. I think my Beretta is about due for a new one.

Best of luck getting your new locking block!

I did the exact same thing to mine about 8years back. Sent it back, they sent me 3 letters of aplogy and refinished, repaired and upgraded my pistol. I had been firing seriously over-loaded ammo through it, I admitted to the it was my fault, and they still took care of me. They also sent me a gold taurus knife, hat, and a new set of grips. Their a Class outfit. FIND a way to send it back to them.:)

Why wouldn't a lifetime warranty extend to you? Is it because you're not in America? Call their customer service & verify this...use a positive attitude that you own one of their pistols & it needs some TLC and see where that gets ya

..Also I am pretty sure that you could order the part over the net and have it shipped to you..Do a search entitled 'Taurus pistol parts'. I know for example that Brownell ships worldwide..

I also understand that the Beretta locking block can work too and so you could order from Brignoli Silvio (Italy) right there in good ole' Europe.

Order a maintenance pack also while you are at it..
