I'd like to buy a revolver from Buds, but need help in finding a FFL in So Cal (north Los Angeles) that doesn't charge an arm and a leg. I've seen some for $60, 75 and one even quoted me $150 to do the transfer.

If anybody knows of somebody who is reasonable priced I'd appreciate the contact. Thanks.

The cheapest I've seen locally (here in L.A. County) is $60. Gunbroker.com has a searchable list of FFLs (link below) but many of them just say "call for fees." Let us know if you find someone reasonably priced - there are some things I'd like to buy through someone who won't rip me off.

$60 is about the best deal I've seen too.

$60? Do they have to do retinal scans? In Texas, I paid $20 recently. I guess you have to pay what the market asks.

Try Uncle Pauls Exchange in east Ventura. Easy access via 126 from Santa Clarita or the 101 from LA. I think that $60 is about the going rate everywhere but you can always ask them what they charge.

They're closed until Saturday, Jan 10, 2009 though.

Ya, and it TX an 1800 sq ft, 3 br 2 bath house doesn't run in the high 6 figures either.

And yet another reason to not live in S.Calif.

Of course, I can go ice climbing in the morning, ride my bicycle at the beach in the afternoon, and shop at Saks in the evening. And I'm in driving distance of pretty much any specialty store you can imagine, be it guns, booze, Ferraris, or crotchless leather panties.

Or I could move to Texas. :p

I'll try a few places mentioned. $60 still seems high to me and the $150 quoted will never get any business from me (no ammo, parts, etc)
