Tarus revolver misfire

I've got a Tarus 94ss4 Revolver. About half of the time when shooting in double action it misfires, but never misfires in single action. I have been unable to figure out the problem, and I'm looking for some advise on what could be causing the misfires. Anyone have any suggestions?

a little more information...
after some more function testing, the problem seems to be exclusive to chambers 6, 7, 8, 9, and 1. with 7, 8, and 1 being the most problematic, and occasional problems with 6 and 9.
Did a lockup test and under resistance it fails to lock every time on 7, 8, and 1. With an occasional fail on 6 and 9. It does lock every time on all the other chambers. this leads me to believe it's either the extractor rachet, or the cylinder itself.
I've inspected both, and I cannot see any defects. I also checked the hand, and the cylinder stop and both appear to be in working order.
I think it's time to go back to the booth for another round of test firing.

Cause it's a Taurus .22 RF?
Seems to be a very slim margin on reliabilty in DA with a stock spring even.
Maybe you need a new spring?

Has anyone tried to do a "trigger job" on that gun? It is pretty common for a gun with a small hammer to misfire using rimfire cartridges if the spring has been modified to give a lighter pull.
A lot of people think a .22 LR or .22 Magnum requires a lighter hammer blow than a center fire gun, but in fact the rimfires require a HEAVIER hammer blow.

replace the mainspring
I had this problem on an old RG pistol I put 2 small washers on the mainspring and that fixed my problem,

No evidence of an attempted trigger job. The problem does seem to be exclusive to specific chambers, which is why I'm thinking it's a rachet and/or cylinder problem.
I'm going out for a test shoot, and I will be keeping track of exactly which chambers are the problem. If it remains exclusive to certain chambers, then I'll know, but if it happens on other's as well I will then replace the main spring and try again.
