A co-worker said he will sell me his 2 yr. old AR 15 for $650. The gun has less than 300 rounds through it, I know it is a base gun with no extra's.

It sounds like a great deal to me, so, i am inclined to buy it for a fun target rifle.

How fussy are these guns with ammo, what do they like and dislike?

I saw a beat up AR 15 at a local gun shop for $800, so, am I stealing this gun for $650?

if you don't take it I want his contact info. prices for AR's (along with anything else that might in any way be considered an EBR) have skyrocketed recently - that's a steal.

Not so fast... IF you're planning to quickly flip it for a profit, then yes, but the bubble that's been created will pop or deflate some time after our messiah's inauguration, so then you're left with a rifle that's worth what it's really worth - A Bushy may or may not be worth that in the regular universe. Probably is, but depends on configuration, overall condition, and whether it has any problems/defects. Look it over carefully. If it's beat up and fixed carry handle mount only, and if you're not planning to re-sale, then I'd ask for little better price, but that's just me. Jump on it if it appears to be in working order and has no defects, though.

Any functional AR is pretty easily worth $650, even a bone-stock A2 Bushmaster. Whether or not he flips it, he'll be getting a good deal.

$650 for a Bushmaster? Buy it!!! Buy it NOW!!

As stated above, even a broken AR is still a good deal at that price.

yep, be a thief, good buy. if you dont like it you could sell it really fast for 3 to 5 hundred more. my bushmaster M4 likes anything you put in it. as long as theres a Dem. in office the black clowd of the ban will always be looming around and make prices stay up there. Even if we are in some irregular universe you still have 4 to 8 years to figure out if you like it or not. if not. shoot me a PM anytime. ill give ya $750 sight unseen=)

you're lucky I don't have the money or the means to magically teleport to your buddy's doorstep with a credit card. You really need to grab it. Thats about 400 bucks cheaper than what it should cost.

Least amount I paid for a Busmaster was 750 and that was a couple of years ago.

Yep, good deal, plus it's a coworker, so he probably isn't pushing off a lemon on you.

MEH, different responses from different people. Some will say don't use russian steel-case ammo, some say it works fine. I lean to the side of caution and only use brass case ammo in my AR, you can get xm193 (online) or UMC (walmart) for pretty cheap and still have it fairly accurate and very reliable.

that is a great price, i own a bushmaster, which is the second one that i have owned, as well i have shot/trained with and used a lot of different models, they all go bang they are reliable, and accurate too. I have shot ammo from most of the makers, of not all as well as wolf too. wolf is ok as long as you let the gun cool off between high round count strings. the rounds get hot in the chamber and like to get stuck. maybe that isn't the case for everyone but that is the experince that i have had. so when i do transition drills, i will do 30, let the ar cool, and continue, etc.

with all the other makers, of higher quality ammo (brass cased) , except for very few exceptions, my gun runs all day long with no issues. 500rd + in a training day is not a problem for my bushmaster.

Aha! My financial predictions are coming true already.

Tell him for that price he'll have to throw in some mags and ammo.

Same thing has happened to me.

Hope the extractor spring upgrade has put an end to it.

If you buy it, I can probably get my dad to buy it from you for $750--you'll make $100, and my dad has an AR, and everyone's happy.

Seriously, though, jump on it.

Buy it. If you want to upgrade it later, you can change out the BCG and add some tactical doodads and still be money ahead.
