I have got a universal m1 carbine in excellent condition I know they are not the most desirable but it is in great condition. I am considering selling it but I am not sure of a fair price.

Get a date and pictures of serial numbers for a more accurate idea of the value.

Looking at the pawns around here, they are getting $450-$500+ for worn out ones--
The gun store down the road has Kahr ones for around $800(?!?!?)
I would say in today's climate, you probably could fetch around $600, maybe less, maybe more---
good luck!:)

I am curious why you think the date and serial number of a Universal carbine makes any difference in its value?
It is worth $350, or less. If you get more than that, its only because the buyer doesn't know what he is doing.

I had universal and underwood switched in my mind. The serial # doesn't matter on the universal.
