mine will feed & fire any .22 rimfire round made, even the CBs....., oooooh another thing, you can load all mixed .22s in the tube & it will feed & fire them all.......

I gotta agree that there's just something about the feel, and about the quality, of both the 61 and 62 that really appeals to me. They're deserving of names like "Squirrel Killer" or some such. :)

I prefer the Winchester 9422. YMMV.

Love the Rem 541T-HB...

That and my old Rem Model 24 from the late 30s.

best .22 I ever had is my old Remington 521t. Bolt action, long barrel, and boy does it shoot! This old Remmy is a true squirrel's nightmare.

The Winchester Model 62A, with its takedown capabilities and visible hammer, has served me well for very nearly 50 years.

When I find something I like better I'll fill you in. Just my very humble opinion.

I'd vote for the 52, but they didn't make very many sporters. Same for the 37.

I'll vote for the 39.

I think the 61's are a little on the "long" side. Same for the Rem. 121, which I like just as well, only it doesn't say Winchester on the side. No doubt they are both good shooters, but I prefer something a tad shorter, like the '06 or 62. Hard to knock the Browning Trombone as well. In the semi-auto's the 63 is a definate classic as well as the Browning ATD.

There are just too many great .22 LR rifles to name any one the best. On my short list of great ones are the following:

1) Marlin 39A

2) Ruger 10/22

3) Thompson/Center Carbine

4) Remington 40X

5) Winchester M52 and M75

They're deserving of names like "Squirrel Killer" or some such.

The old Remingtons had names like "Gamemaster" and "Woodsmaster". How 'bout "SquirrelMaster":D

I picked up an OLD but "like new" Winchester Model 69....5 round detachable mag/peep sight. More accurate than any Ruger 10/22 I've fired.
