Its a Colt in the low 17 000 serial number range ,1st generation.
Who sells the necessary parts so I could restore it to shooting condition.
Would Pietta parts just drop in?

It's unlikely they will just 'drop in'. Some minor filing/stoning will likely be necessary, but it won't be difficult. Use hand tools or you're likely to overdo it.

What parts do you really have in this "stripped" frame? Is it just the actual reciever/frame where the cylinder rotates, or that part with a barrel?

USFA makes really really good copies of the first generation colts. there parts SHOULD work fine.
Pietta/uberti parts should work alright as well.
alot of gun companies make alot of spare part sets for the old style colt peacemaker, those should work fine.

However the real problem is a cylinder and a barrel if you dont have that yet, its going to get expensive as youll need tofind correct replacements, and youll still need a gunsmith to put those together. and probably a gunsmith to do all assembly and fitting.
Have you talked at all with the colt factory for help?

Nothing but a frame, no barrel,no cylinder or any moving parts or screws.
Anybody care to list any companies selling repro. colt parts, Dixie has next to nothing and numrich arms is kind of pricey.
Any help at all would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You might give VTI Gun Parts a try. Their site says they carry Colt parts.
