Benelli M1 vs. M2...what's the real difference?

I've owned a couple of M1S90 Benellis and gotten rid of them. Toying with the idea of buying an M2 but I'm not really sure what the difference is. Can anyone tell me? Just starting to research this and I have no real idea at this point.

The stock is the only noticeable difference I can see. I bought a used M-1 a couple of years ago and compared it side by side with a M-2 at the time. Other than the stock and foreend cap I could not see any difference. I decided to save $500 and buy the used M-1. Internals may be slightly different, but the M-1 is pretty good as is.
