No need to throw a fit yet...see if Brownells will make it right first.

They have always had good customer service...call them, be nice...and you'll probably be a lot happier in a few days.

I'd be even more pissed if I paid $600 for a stock...

Every time I have ordered something from brownells it has been something other than what I ordered 3 times in a row the only reason I ordered from them this time is they were the only place that had it in stock... I also paid for express shipping and it took 2 weeks... when it should have been 2 days at most...

I don't know if the shipping has to do with them or UPS but either way paid 600 + for the wrong stock wich if it was the right one the thing would have been chipped to hell... I was going to use this rifle for a match this weekend but looks like thats out the window as well...

Express shipping never works out..I learned that long ago. Standard shipping is often just as fast...no matter where you are ordering from.

I'm sorry to hear that they screwed up 3 times...but they usually make it right.

Call them and return it, that is usually the measure of a company but yeah it stinks when they do stupid stuff like this.

send it back and tell them you want a stock from a company that doesn't associate itself with murderers

Thats worth getting mad about...but do you have another stock? (one that requires no bedding)

Wow, I've never had a problem with them. I've always gotten what I've ordered and gotten it quickly. I say give them a chance to make it right. Either they will, which I assume will make you happy. Or they won't, in which case you have every right to be pissed.

I find it hard to believe that they've sent you the wrong item three times on multple orders. If they were that bad, they would have gone out of business decades ago. But, strager things have happened.

Sorry to hear about the problem you're having. Don't give up though.
They'll make it right.

A while back, I ordered a set of rings for a man that was going on a once in a lifetime sort of hunt. Got the rings three days before he was to leave. I'd ordered wrong rings. Called Brownell's told them how I'd screwed up the order, and about the customer's upcoming hunt I'd potentially messed up. Next day, UPS shows up with the correct rings, and a note to ship back the wrong ones in exchange. Didn't cost me a thing. That's how good they treated me, and I was a little, small shop that never ordered more than forty or fifty dollars a month of parts and supplies from them.

Six hundred bucks is a lot and not having the rifle as you want it to be when you want it that way is a pain, but in my experience Brownell's will make it right.

They can't make a rifle with the stock you want magically appear tonight, but I would be extremely surprised if they did not ship you an immediate replacement if you contacted them in and explained the problem in an unemotional manner.

This is the last time for sure unless its taken care of right... The last couple times it has been small stuff the only reason I ordered this time was because they were the only place that had it in stock at the time and I needed it for a match... I wanted to give them another chance since I hear nothing but good things but this was most upsetting...

I've been ordering from Brownell's for probably 30 years now.

Stuff happens. They will make it right.

The rest of American businesses could take lessons from them.

+1 on customer service that goes above and beyond the every day norm.

Brownells is FANTASTIC to deal with in my experience. I've had a dealer account with them for 10+ years now and have always gotten what I want without fail. I even usually forget something on my order, reply to the confirmation email to ask them to add what I forgot, and they take care of me every single time.

Having one problem with Brownells is rare, having problems 3+ times is a curse.

But...

send it back and tell them you want a stock from a company that doesn't associate itself with murderersThis is the best advice.

You could always ask Brownells if they'd sell you the Lon Horiuchi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lon_Horiuchi) approved (http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/davemarkowitz/2008HSPrecisionCatalogBackCover.jpg) model.

You get a yellow return form with the order.
Fill it out, make a copy, put in in the box, seal it up and send it back to Brownells by whatever shipping means you desire.

They will replace the item, credit your account, or refund your money and refund the cost of shipping the item back to them.

I can't see it taking two weeks to ship an item to Texas unless the item was on backorder, not their fault that an item is on backorder, try buying AR15 stuff right now.
If it was shipped by express mail look at the date it was postmarked, the Post Office may have misplaced or diverted it to god knows where and had to find it and reship it to you.
This isn't Brownells fault.
They offer a flat rate ten dollar UPS,(Big Brown Truck), shipping option and I would recommend you use that route, especially when ordering large items of great value.

Wrong stock being shipped is extremely unusual as everything is coded with a nine digit product code.
If you gave them the right number, check the box and see if that number matches the number you ordered.
Could be H-S Precision put the wrong item in the wrong shipping box.

Forearm all chipped up is NOT Brownells fault.
They don't open each and every item and physically check it before they ship the item out, no offense but you aren't their only customer and they just don't have the time to do that.
If the item was damaged, it was damaged before or after it was sealed into the factory packaging.
Again, this would be on the manufacturer, not the distrubuter.

They will make it right regardless, their stated guarantee of customer satisfaction is "No questions asked."

I don't work for Brownells but have been buying from them for 25 years.
I have received orders that have had issues.
Not once in all these years have they failed to make the order right.

Express shipping only means that once UPS gets the package they get it to you in 2 days. If UPS doesn't get the package for a week, then you aren't going to get it for a week and 2 days. ALWAYS check on the handling time. That is something a lot of people don't do. They assume that the item is in stock when they buy it, and will be shipped immediately. Whenever I'm tempted to pay for express shipping, I always verify that the item is in stock and will be shipped that day or the next. Otherwise, express shipping is a waste of money.

This sounds like a Botach story. I have ordered 100's of items from Brownells and they have the best customer service in the gun business, period. I'm 100% positive they will fix your problem to your satisfaction.

Well, you gotta pay extra for the Lon Horiuchi Signature Series. It pulls the trigger for you when you sight in on an unarmed mother with baby.

In all seriousness, as others have said, they will probably make it right. But on those facts, in my book, "making it right" would necessarily include them paying return shipping (both ways). Hope it all works out for you.

Mine too. They have the best customer service of anyone, bar none.

My experience with them has been if I get the wrong item, it's because I ordered the wrong item. But they always make it right at no additional cost.

Well I just talked to karen Blankenship with brownells and she was extremely nice and they are taking care of it as we speak shipping over night air and paying for it!!! I hope it is able to get here before my match... I really want to have good experiences with brownells because I hear so much good stuff about them, It just sucks that I have had so much bad luck with them. The people there are extremely nice and care about customer satisfaction. Hopefully this will break the brownells curse I had!!!

My Rule #1. Never order stuff during the holidays. The employees with seniority aren't working and everybody else has a hangover. :)

OTOH, I bought some grips from a guy on ebay Monday night. They came today while I was at work - UPS ground from 4 states away. Go figure.
