Probably a dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer myself.

Looking at getting an XD, and have a guy giving a good price on it, but not in the dark earth color I'm after. Is it possible to get just the different polymer from somewhere?

Yes, it's possible: Buy another XD that has that color frame and swap them out !

Otherwise, you could get it Dura-coated by someone, but beware the rougher texture for the trigger safety, as it might change the trigger pull negatively until smoothed out.

probably just better hold out for what you want.

you'll probably forget the price w/ the passage of time and use of the gun, but you won't if it isn't what you want to begin w/, and then you'll be chapped because you lost your shirt when you traded it towards what you really wanted, anyway...

I would recommend waiting for the one you want. You could probably order it or find one at any gunshow with a SA XD vendor (they had the Dark earth models at all of the ones I've been too in KS)

not a different frame, but you can use a can of paint ir send it in to sa or get a duracoat job done.there are many options, but a whole lower reciever is out of the question.
