Looking to optic my old .22 so I can start saving money on shooting. For those that are into 50y precision .22 are you mounting to your dovetail receiver grooves or are you using a Weaver adapter? I guess the fear is that the rings will begin to creep/walk but then again it's only a .22.

What are your thoughts?

Just buy a GOOD pair of 3/8" dovetail rings follow the directions and you'll be set. Emphasis on GOOD meaning you don't buy them from wal mart. I've had the best results with Millet angle/lock rings on grooved recievers.

if by some fluke you do have slippage problems a tiny daub of fine valve lapping compound applied inside the dovetail groove where it meets the ring will have the scope holding firm even trough a nuclear attack
