If so, how many rounds did you have through it?

Thanks.

CZ-75 or CZ-75B. There is a difference... The 75B has a firing pin block.

I participate at the CZ Forum. Not many breakage issues with 75Bs (or with 75s, for that matter) are mentioned there -- and lot of CZ shooters take part. A few broken slide stops have been mentioned, over the past couple of years. A few other aggravating problems with premature slide lock, generally easily remedied -- and extraction problems with Winchester White Box Value Pack (but only for some guns). That's about it.

Oh, yeah: the firing pin retention roll pin can possibly break if you dry fire a 75B a lot. (I dry-fired my 75B thousands of times without problem, but busted the pin in a new 40B within a few hundred.)

The new ones come with snap caps. And you can get a modified firing pin that makes the snap caps unnecessary from a gunsmith who specializes in CZ: www.jrfarrar.com (http://www.jrfarrar.com)

Walt nailed all of the issues any CZ has had in the past 5 years.

In general, to answer your question...NO. The small parts do not break on CZ's except in rare cases. The actual % of broken guns is as low as youll hear about with any "other top" gun maker.

Shoot well

Slide lock problems, and weak springs, but no broken parts.

I'm a huge CZ fan, but cannot tell a lie... ;)

Lost an extractor claw after putting ~5,000 rounds through my 9mm 75. (Bought used, unknown history prior to purchase.) Happened over Thanksgiving weekend, natch. CZ-USA had a replacement (two, actually -- on the theory that anything you have a spare for will never break again :D ) in my hands a couple of days after contacting them; over 4,000 trouble-free rounds since.

Also had a roll pin come adrift on the Kadet kit after who knows how many zillion rounds (>10K, for sure, mebbe 15 or more), but that was a fix-it-at-the-range deal.

They're great guns -- get one (or more)!

I have an old CZ. All original parts and like Timex, still keeps on ticking.

I broke the sleeve on the ambidextrous slide stop on my CZ 85 Combat, 1996 vintage. This was somewhat common.

CZ-USA had me send it back to them and updated it to the new design (thicker sleeve) at no charge.

Not many quality firearms break parts in civilian use.

Ok......just to give you an example of my CZistory (You like that one  ? )

Ive owned and shot the daylights out of

2 CZ 83's in .380..both blued, one rnd trigger guard and one sq.
1 CZ 83 in Mak in Nickel, Ive owned this one 2 times..its never leaving my safe again
3 CZ Compact 9mm's, 1 blue, 1 poly and 1 nickel.....
2 CZ SA 75's...1 with exp LDA F/O sights, 1 custom in my safe....never leaving.
1 CZ 97 from Walt.....shot the hell out of it..but traded for other CZ stuff.
2 CZ Compact D's...or PCR's...1 fullhouse custom and 1 current Prim. CCW.
1 CZ 75 B Blue in 9mm....traded in a moment of temporary insanity....(Yes I know, DEFINE TEMPORARY :neener: )

Started working on them with my first CZ83...its just gotten worse since then......Just ask the guys who have bought my guns....its a terrible affliction. :D

Started off...devout follower of the CZForum, became a Moderator over 3 clubs, then co-admin and Administrator....over 3 years of Forumitis...going on 4 pretty soon............seen and heard all of the stuff that happens.

Made CCW CZ holsters after my beloved PCR made me bleed with EVERY holster I could find....REGARDLESS of how great or expensive they were.
Ive been at it for close to 3 years now and started leather work as a kid....
Small town in UT.....fast cars, motorcycles, guns, leather and my psych deg. are all of my fondest memories..........:D

With a nutshell description of my CZistory...Ive had one problem with one Compact....which was so obscure not even Mike @ CZUSA thought it could exist........but it did and we got it fixed. No small parts breakage.........

They do exist...but they are really really rare.

Shoot well and all that...........:D

The CZ75B was the first auto I carried. I liked it, but demoted it to a target piece after the firing pin broke. I think I had put a thousand rounds through it.

Did the firing pin break, or was it the firing pin retention roll pin?

Breaking the roll pin is much more commmon. I've never heard of a hiring pin breaking, but have encountered broken roll pins. Did it myself in a CZ-40B, but never in a 75B (despite thousands of dry fires.)

Snap caps will prevent the broken roll pin, or you can get a modified/redesigned replacement firing pin from JR Farrar (http://www.jrfarrar.com) that also minimizes the problem.

The firing pin broke roughly where it tapers down to the thin section. I keep it in my range bag as a reminder how important quality is.

Amazingly, the gun would still fire, but after each shot, the firing pin would stick out about 1/3 inch causing a malfunction. I think the only reason the firing pin didn't completely fall out of the slide was that at the point where it broke, it was slightly bent. This happened while at the range fortunately.

My CZ-75b began locking back prematurely with seemingly no pattern to the cause. CZ USA said that it MUST be the cylinder release spring. I replaced it (at my cost) and the problem did not go away. 500 rounds later, the slide stop snapped in half. CZ USA sent me a new one: no charge.

The slide stop snapped at roughly 20,000 rounds.

There are now 30,000 rounds through the gun with no further problems.

My local shop has a NIB blued pre-B CZ. It's an older model with the plastic kidney shaped bumps on the grips and spur hammer, with box/papers and one pre-ban for $500. These are hard to find. I would buy it but I'm too poor.:( If anybody wants the contact info please email me. I've got no connection to the shop, just passing along info.

That PreB is high, see if he comes down to 350-400. Then again its sellers
market on this item.
